It is with great sorrow that the South Metropolitan Fire Protection District announces the death of Battalion Chief Christopher A. Tindall. Battalion Chief Tindall died January 8, 2015, following a sudden medical illness.

We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to all who came out to honor Battalion Chief Tindall as he was laid to rest Wednesday, January 14th, 2015.

Temporary Burn Ban in effect

Due to dry conditions and forecast winds the South Metro Fire Marshal's office has issued a Burn Ban. No open burning is allowed during this time, and all issued burn permits are suspended.

The Ban on Open Burning has been extended. Until the Fire Marshal's office determines that enough precipitation has occurred to improve conditions no open burning is allowed within the boundaries of the South Metropolitan Fire Protection District. We ask all residents to observe common safety practices by no burning until such time that the current threat is decreased.
