In addition to responding to emergencies, South Metro Fire provides a
verity of Community Services to our District. To take advantaged of any
of these services or for more information, contact South Metro Fire Headquarters
at (816) 331-3008
Smoke
Detectors
- South Metro will inspect and test home smoke detectors, as well as
change batteries at no charge, by appointment. South Metro also offers
free smoke detectors to homes in need of them.
- Lock Out Service
- South Metro will assist if you lock yourself out of your car or house.
Safe
Place
- Both South Metro fire stations are designated as a Safe Place for
youth in crisis. Any young person needing assistance can stop into either
South Metro fire station and a trained volunteer will be contacted to
work with the young person to find them the assistance they need. South
Metro, as well as other area departments are part of the National
Safe Place network.
- Carbon Monoxide Detector assistance
- South Metro will provide information and guidance on the purchase
of CO detectors for your home. South Metro will also help with installation
of CO defectors by appointment.
- Fire Safety Inspections
- South Metro will provide a complete Fire Safety inspection of your
home, by appointment at your convenience. South Metro will point out
areas of concern to Fire Safety in your home and give recommendation
on ways to fix them.
- Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar checks
- Stop by either South Metro Fire Station for a free Blood Pressure
and/or Blood Sugar check. If you are unable to leave your house, make
an appointment and South Metro will come to you.
- Fire Safety Education
- South Metro will provide Fire Safety Education to schools and community
groups in the District.
